Q I HAVE been a caretaker for five years and am paid weekly. If I want to leave do I need to give only one week's notice? - Reg, Falkirk.

A BEING paid weekly need not necessarily mean one week's notice.

Look at your employment contract and if you don't have one, look at custom and practice i.e. see if it's usual for caretakers to be on one week's notice.
