Q I HAVE been offered a new job, signed the contract and was due to start work next month. Now the boss of the firm has told me the job is no longer available. I've handed in my notice at my old firm. This has left me in a real spot. What can I do? - Jean, Edinburgh.

A EVEN though you have not started your new job you are entitled to notice of termination or this would be a breach of contract and you could claim compensation for wrongful dismissal.
