Message Board: Dozens Set To Go On The Rails

DOZENS of construction and engineering jobs are to be created after Network Rail gave the go-ahead for a £60million upgrade of the Airdrie to Bathgate rail line.

Balfour Beattie Rail Projects were awarded the contract last week with construction on the new section of line due to start in 2009.

A spokesman said the revival of the line would benefit a number of communities.
