Message Board: 50 Jps Set To Go On Bench

A DRIVE has been launched to find 50 Justices of the Peace.

The voluntary posts are open to anyone aged 18 to 70 but women, young people and ethnic minorities are being targeted specifically.

Successful applicants will help diversify Scotland's crop of 450 mainly white, male, middle-aged JPs serving in 61 courts. A spokesman said JPs deal with crimes that impact most on our communities.
