SCOTTISH GAS have announced plans for a new £2million training academy that will double the number of apprentices hired over the next year.
The centre, based in Hamilton, will replace the existing academy in Queenslie, Glasgow, and increase trainee numbers to 100. Apprentices earn from £17,127 a year, rising to £29,000 for qualified engineers.
The centre will also offer continuous training to the firm's 800 engineers.
