LIE detectors could be used to find out if workers are taking sickies.

Harrow Borough Council in Middlesex used voice analysis software to detect benefit fraud in a year-long project.

The scheme was hailed as a major success and now its makers are suggesting the technology could be used to cut down on office absenteeism.
