Q MY IT department managed to delete three months of project work and I only have a week before my deadline. Should I ask for help or try to cover it up? - David, by email.

A TELL your boss immediately. That way he can assign you extra help so you have the best chance of recovering the situation. Covering it up will only lead to disaster in the long run.
