Message Board: City Staff Enjoy Capital Gains

SALARIES in Edinburgh are rising faster than anywhere else in the country.

The capital saw average wages rise more than £700 in five months, now sitting at £30,396 a year, compared to the national average of £29,205.

The Scottish Government reports Edinburgh had 11.3 jobs for every 10 people of working age.

A spokesman for Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce said: "This is very encouraging news."
