More than six million copies of Edinburgh-based Rockstar North's game were expected to sell in its first week of release, with 609,000 sold in the UK on the first day.

Scotland has around 30 computer games firms generating an annual revenue of £185million a year and the industry is expected to experience considerable growth over the next few years.
