SCOTLAND'S jobs market continues to outperform the rest of the UK.

Official figures show unemployment fell last month and consumer confidence remains high despite the threat of a global downturn.

One of the key factors in the strong performance was stability in the housing market and sustained growth in the economy last year. The number of unemployed fell by 1000 to 130,000 in the quarter to February.
