Q I HAVE gout and been prescribed allopurinol. It is working but I have developed a rash. Should I stop taking it?

A IT could be an allergic reaction but you may not have to stop taking the allopurinol as rashes are common with it. The tablets help to stop uric acid formation. Uric acid builds up in the joints causing your gout. It can take four weeks for the medication to help.
