Q I'VE suffered from vertigo for years but it has become worse since a firm next to my home installed a machine that constantly emits a humming noise. Is this affecting me?
A ANYTHING put in a residential area has to go through rigorous checks to ensure it will not affect people's health, so the machine will not be the cause of your vertigo. The humming may be making you stressed, which can make your condition worse. If you can hear it in your house, you could complain about noise pollution to the council. In the meantime, your GP can adjust your medication to help with your vertigo.
