Be A Bright Spark Fashion Summer Dresses

Bold is beautiful but you must be bold as brass to try the new trend for neon make-up. Super-bright is hard to pull off - as I proved at my pal Laura's 80s-themed hen night, below. Here's how to pull off neon in style.

Virgin Vie's Pop Colour Artists' Eye Palette is a limited edition set of five shimmering shades. Apply lightly for a pastel wash of colour or build up for dramatic results. A rainbow of possibilities with this one girls. It's a bargain at £12 from Virgin Vie stores or order on 0845 300 8022.

Ruby and Millie's Eye Palette is a little more grown-up with a darker blues and greens.These lush rainforest shades work well alone or as liners. From Boots, £12.

I love Rimmel's Maxx It Up Shadow in shade 365. This bright cerise has a real kick to it. Wear alone with black mascara and clear gloss to achieve a real wow factor. Can be worn wet or dry. From Boots and Superdrug, £3.49.

Cool like a lagoon, 2 True's Turquoise Shadow is a bold alternative to the natural shades we sport the rest of the year. Blue is back, so go for it. From Superdrug, £1.95.

If you want to try the neon trend but are not brave enough for a full-on bold shadow, try an eyeliner. I like Urban Decay's 24/7 Liner. It's is long-lasting and waterproof. Try the purple shade, Lust - it's my favourite. From Boots, £9.

Give fingers and toes a tropical makeover with Ruby and Millie's Nail Colour in yellow and pink, £9 each from Boots. I also like Nails Inc Polish in Hanover Square, a deep blue, and Hans Place, a vibrant orange. From Frasers, £9.50.

You get a cocktail of glossy bright colours with RMK's Mix Colours For Lips. Shade 03 is a tiered trio of vibrant sheer pink and coral tints. Perfect for summer nights. £14.50 from Frasers.

I was a tangerine dream at pal's 80s hen party
